Pruksa proudly unveils impressive 2008 performance, achieving net profit of 2,373 MBt, a 82% rise, plus a dividend value of 0.33 Baht per share

- 26 February 2009 - Pruksa Real Estate Public Company Limited has announced its remarkable business performance for the year 2008 with a substantial increase in sales, revenue and net profit. The record-high net profit was achieved at 2,373 Million Baht, an imposing 82% rise in comparison with 1,302 Million Baht obtained in the previous year. This notable increase in net profit, in particular, underlines both the management and operational efficiency of the company.

Mr. Thongma Vijitpongpun, President, Pruksa Real Estate Public Company Limited, revealed that, "Despite the many economic challenges, we were faced with throughout the year 2008; we managed to maintain our constant business growth and generated a total of 13,034 Million Baht worth of yearly revenue, a marked 43% increase as compared to 9,093 Million Baht obtained in 2007. Our revenue structure for this year can be divided into 58% from townhouses, 38% from single detached houses, and 4% from condominiums."

"We operate our business with a great deal of deliberation and meticulous planning. We work hard to adjust our strategies to make the most of the ever-changing business climates and conditions. All these efforts have paid off in our highly satisfactory performance this year with increased revenue and record-high net profit of 2,373 Million Baht. We are pleased to announce that we will be paying a dividend of 0.33 Baht per share to our shareholders this year, which is noticeably higher than 0.22 Baht per share in the previous year. We are also proud to announce that, since 2006, we have been rewarding our valued shareholders with yearly dividends at a rate not lower than 30% of our net profit.", added Mr. Thongma.

Mr. Prasert Taedullayasatit, Director and Chief Operating Officer, Pruksa Real Estate Public Company Limited, commented on the sales and ownership transfers of the company in 2008. He said that, "The global economic slowdown has undeniably affected the sales performance of listed companies in stock markets worldwide. However, thanks to our flexibility and versatility to adjust to the changing circumstances, we were able to keep the effect on our company at a minimum. In brief, in 2008, we produced total sales worth 16,188 Million Baht, a 19% increase over 13,646 Million Baht in 2007; and we completed ownership transfers of as many as 8,913 units, a 26% increase over 7,024 units in the previous year. In addition, we also launched a total of 38 new projects throughout 2008 - which can be broken down into 21 townhouse projects, 11 single-house projects and 6 condominium projects. All projects have been warmly welcomed by their target consumers."

"Despite the slowdown in demand for single detached houses and townhouses in Bangkok and Greater Bangkok in 2008, we surprisingly managed to gain even greater market shares in these segments. Our market share in the townhouse segment was achieved at 51%; a 16% increase from the year before, and at the same time, the market share in the single house market was recorded at 11.5; a 3% rise from 2007. We have been constantly improving and updating our product portfolios, and promote them through a range of well-planned marketing activities that communicate effectively to target consumers. All these efforts have resulted in our impressive market share growth.", said Mr. Prasert.
